Lighting Manufacturer Trades in Traditional Tools for Modern Measurement Solution

Trilux is a German-based company that provides modern lighting solutions for corporate offices, warehouses, outdoor areas, schools, stadiums, retail outlets and more. As a market leader in technical and intelligent lighting, Trilux has always stayed true to its core values: commitment to innovation, a deeply rooted belief in quality, and a keen eye for the needs of customers. Learn why Trilux chose Virtek LaserQC® to modernize its measurement process, leading to improved speed, quality and customer satisfaction.
A Clear Challenge
Trilux manufactures more than 9,000 sheet metal products, including intricate luminaire bodies that form the basis of a commercial lighting unit. Their standard measuring process involved traditional equipment, visual exams (conducted by floor operators), and templates that were often created in house.Knowing they’d need to innovate on these processes in order to keep up with industry competitors, boost productivity and enhance efficiencies, they sought out a more modern solution. The Trilux team knew that measuring parts with ease, speed, and accuracy would result in higher-quality outputs, less time and material used, a more reliable production line, and ultimately, improved customer satisfaction.

IRIS 3DIRIS TRUSSIRIS SPS
LTGLASERQC
LASEREDGE®
Virtek Iris™ 3D with the NEW Vision Positioning System (VPS) significantly advances laser-guided assembly with innovative “FlashAlign” functionality and superior laser-line visibility. Initial alignment is 20X faster and re-alignments are reduced from minutes to seconds – save time, increase workflow all while retaining quality and accuracy.

Virtek IRIS Truss
The Virtek® IRIS Truss system projects a laser template of the truss to be built onto the work surface, highlighting the position and shape of all truss joints and connector plates. This eliminates the need for measuring, squaring and stringing.

Virtek Iris™ Spatial Positioning System (SPS) locates objects in 3D space and quickly locks onto CAD-specified assembly positions without the need for costly tooling or optical targets. The Iris system is compact and easy-to-use for improved productivity, quality and safety on the shop floor.

Virtek LTG
The Virtek Laser Template Generator™ (LTG) system projects a template that shows operators the exact location of all important features in each component or assembly. There’s no need to refer to blueprints or the use of a measuring tape, so even the most complicated designs can be built in minutes.
Virtek® LaserQC® is a rapid inspection system that employs lasers to measure the accuracy of two-dimensional parts to tolerances within 0.05mm (0.002 inches).

Industries:  Sheet Metal Gaskets
Virtek LaserEdge® software with the NEW Laser Projection System (LPS10) is an easy-to-use, three-dimensional laser templating and positioning system. It accurately projects a virtual laser template onto molds and parts to guide operators through the process of part fabrication whether it be ply layup, paint masking, assembly or component location.
