the project

By implementing Virtek’s LTG system, Metalcrafters  of Wayne County, Inc. has transformed its fabrication processes, saving time, improving accuracy, and addressing bottlenecks caused by traditional layout methods. Beyond fabrication, the LTG system’s value as a QC tool ensures that every part meets exact standards, reinforcing Metalcrafters’ reputation for
delivering high-quality metalwork.

Metalcrafters’ adoption of Virtek’s innovative technology highlights the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and staying ahead in the
competitive metal fabrication industry.

"We are saving massive amounts of time and effort in our layout procedures. The key advantages of using Virtek Laser systems are accuracy, time and the use of the DFX from submittals allows you to be sure there are no issues between parts. It is as much a quality control tool as it is a fab too.”

the challenge

Before implementing Virtek’s solution, Metalcrafters relied on traditional layout methods, requiring skilled labor for interpreting prints and making precise calculations. These methods often resulted in slower production times and errors. To stay ahead and improve efficiency, Metalcrafters sought a more cost-effective and accurate solution to reduce manual layout time and eliminate inconsistencies.

the solution

Metalcrafters discovered Virtek’s Laser Template Generator (LTG) system in 2022 and saw its potential to revolutionize their processes. While implementing Tekla, they were pleased to find an export feature for Virtek to receive ready-to-use DXF files. They adopted a dual-head projector LTG system, enabling precise laser-guided layouts and a streamlined digital workflow that optimized both layout and quality assurance. Virtek’s LTG system eliminated the need for manual measuring and marking, allowing operators to complete layouts quickly by simply opening DXF files.
